A beautiful garden patio, two distinct bar areas across two floors, plus all the people who will make your experience unforgettable. There’s good reason the Duke of York has been keeping the good times going for 40 years in the Annex. Add to that our huge selection of wine, beer and spirits, and our ample menu of classic pub fare, and you’ve just found your perfect home away from home.
The team at the Duke of York is a warm and happy bunch, ready to host families for weekend brunch or students and faculty from University of Toronto during the week. The pub is steps from the Royal Ontario Museum, the Royal Conservatory of Music, Varsity Stadium, Yorkville, and the bustle of Bloor Street. The York is the Original British Pub in Toronto, and is the cultural and creative sibling in the Duke Family. The establishment is a second home to numerous students, especially those in University of Toronto’s music and drama programs, and professionals and Annex residents.
Our Better Beer Promise
We offer an ever-evolving variety of draught beer, guaranteed fresh and clean so it’s the best beer you can find in the city. Our lines are cleaned at least once every four weeks, and every Duke Pub is audited once a month to ensure our beer is stored, poured and served properly. Keg rotation, freshness, fridge cleanliness and temperatures are all checked to ensure we serve the best draught beer we can.
